A Snow Day...

... even if it wasn't suppose to be! This morning I got a call saying the High Schooler's weren't picked up.... and the Elementary Schoolers were sitting at the bus stop waiting for their bus as well... the roads were slick and snow covered... according to the news... no schools were cancelled or delayed... but there were accidents all over the place. I called the board of transportation to try to find out some answers only to be told that the buses were running late due to the roads. D had hitched a ride with his old bus driver and made it to the shuttle bus transfer... so I had allowed him to go onto the high school but I brought my little man Wes home cause the roads were not good and I didn't want him to on them... I let him watch TV and I went back to lay down for awhile... it's been a cold, windy day... snow still on the ground but the roads are cleared up. Now I just pray my High Schooler gets home on time!! I just hope they don't count this day against him!!

Big Girl called me to tell me that she is back into her dorms now that the Exodus is over. She has a class tomorrow and then only 2 more weeks of classes till she graduates... then of to Langley AFB she goes... she was going to come home for some R.A.P (Recruiters Assistance Program) but her recruiter has to go into surgery for a back injury so she will be going off to Langley straight from tech school... I'm sad cause I was counting down the days til she would be home again... now I have to count the days down till June... when she can come home on leave! We hope then that she will be able to get a car and we will follow her back to Virginia so she doesn't get lost.. lol!!! She sounds so different now... so grown up!! She has matured so much!!! I'm so proud!!! I just wish that she didn't have to learn such hard lessons so early on in life! I have to have faith... I have to have hope... I have to believe that everything will be okay and she will be and do AWESOME!!!

I swore that this year I wasn't going to make any resolutions... and I'm not... but I do want to have a small list of things that I'd like to accomplish... if it happens then awesome... if not... oh well... so here goes:

  1. Read and Write more often
  2. Learn to crochet more patterns
  3. Finish Big Girl's Blanket
  4. Be healthier
  5. Start/Finish home improvements
  6. Live everyday with a cheerful heart!
Like I said... they aren't resolutions... but they are things I'd like to accomplish!!! All I can do is... Just Do!!!
